Central City Hotel
Central City is one of many New Orleans neighborhoods that are great storytellers. This one in particular being a corridor shaped by culture, resilience, and community. This hotel concept treats the neighborhood as the main attraction. It takes a historic structure and adds much needed square footage to create a new hotel experience. The form steps back to allow the historic building to not be overshadowed by the contemporary addition in the rear. These setbacks allow for the streetscape to not feel crowded and for the adjacent community park to remain a focal point in the intersection.
The design respects the community in scale and aesthetic, while creating spaces that feel like a true New Orleans’ Courtyard experience that connects to the public realm. Rooted in local character and craftsmanship, the project aims to honor the past while bringing new life to a neglected property on a very historic corridor of New Orleans.
Updates to final design to come.
